FOMO / Urgency Marketing
FOMO (fear of missing out) and urgency marketing use countdown timers, 'only X spots left,' or 'price goes up at midnight' messaging to compress the decision window and discourage comparison shopping or research. Some scarcity is genuine, but artificially generated or recurring 'limited-time' offers that reset every few days are a well-documented pressure tactic designed to short-circuit the skepticism a buyer would otherwise apply.
