Astroturfing
Astroturfing is the practice of manufacturing the appearance of widespread, independent public enthusiasm for a product or claim, when the activity is actually paid, coordinated, or run by a small number of accounts. It shows up as waves of near-identical reviews, comment sections flooded with suspiciously similar praise, or 'random' creators all posting about the same product within days of each other after receiving free units or payment.
